Hi all - Great to be a member and have the opportunity to ask real experts, really I've had a nightmare 2 weeks with my Scenic II 1.5dci Dynamique, 05 plate.
Having trawled through wiring threads, I cannot match any with this fault I have. Deep breath...
2 weeks ago family jumped into car. Put in key card, pressed start, engine did nowt and 'Injection Fault' was showing on dash. Had local mechanic on it all morning and nothing - battery ok, wipers, windows etc working.
Eventually took to local Renault specialist in Stoke (not main dealer). Diagnosed as engine wiring fault - 2 days were spent repairing wires, Cost £350.00. Picked car up, drove for 15 minutes, parked car at work to pick something up, started up again and back to square 1 - 'Injection Fault' -
Local specialist looked at it - actually got car started by hand-tweaking wire loom under bonnet, but car died after 10 seconds. He now says wiring loom definitely water corroded and need replacing - est cost £800 inc new wiring loom.
Sorry to drag on, but unless I can salvage a used wiring loom, I'm looking at £1,150 to fix a 3 year old car, just out of warranty!! Anyone come across this before? Sorry to beg, but with 2 kids etc a £1000 bill out of the blue is a tough one.
