Modifying Heater Fan Switch

I am modifying the heater fan switch on my Laguna I, What I need is to switch the fan via a 12V PCB. At the moment I am just using the middle setting wire to a positive part of the loom. This is just on off. Obviously the fan will use quite high currents so the pcb will need relays but my problem is how to wire the system between the relays and the fan....Does the fan use only one wire at a time or does it use additional wires for control data lines like a signal voltage or something...I can't work it out from the wiring diagrams cheers guys.....
