I must admit to not knowing if any of the keys worked. It was something I never tried. It is a good piece of advice to others to check that they do work before you need it.
The dealer sent his mechanic out to the car this afternoon to check the key and he has decided that the barrel of the lock has "dropped" within the door and this is the cause. If only Renault had fitted a lock to each door!
The only option now they say is to break a window so we are just waiting now to see which is going to be the cheapest to replace. If they have got to remove the door card to replace/repair the lock then it would make sense to me to break the passenger door window. Also that is only secured in one location rather than a quarter light which would need refitting and securing on all sides.
Oh the joy of Renaults and their keyless systems.
