The other consideration in this job market is how much credit ur getting - that final payment could look ugly down the line if your situation changes. If you're the world's greatest saver or in the world's safest job that's not an issue. They say the car market is going through Cuba syndrome, where the average age of mottah peeps are prepared to stick with is increasing, especially as quality improves. You may want to review how straightforward repairs are on the major consumables if you're keeping it a long time. An A class Merc for instance is a right-off if the gearbox fails. And does it have the 2.5 derv prone to throwing a rod, although more likely on the Navarra it could still be a factor.
The 2.0dCi so far as I can tell is reliable, and same for the petrols though the mpg on a petrol 4x4 is scary, and future tax bills likely are too.
