Laguna 2 Intermittent Interior Lighting *Fix*

Hi All,
I've had a recurring problem with intermittent, erratic and sometimes non-functioning interior lights (the ones in the headlining).
I have finally tracked this down to the DIODE UNIT fitted above the headlining between the sunroof and the sunvisor on the passenger side. The diode is in a small plastic box with a connector on the end and a FORD (yes, FORD) part number on it
Being handy with a soldering iron, I have replaced the diode (BY399) with a 1N5408 (the closest match I could find at Maplin), all seems to be ok now, fingers crossed!

Has anyone else come across this fault or am I alone?
