What shore silicone did you use for the repairs?
You need to split the shaft. Easy on the Kangoo. Bet RX4 is similar. I unbolted the vibration damper and looked inside the pipe. The steadyment bearing that appears impossible to renew is possible as there is a spline coupling next to it. Just knock it apart using a long punch.
As regards silicon I used Lidl's best bathroom silicon sealer selling for 99p per cartridge.
Currently in tolsen's garage:
Trekka 1.9 DCI, Smart Cabrio Cdi (65 - 85 MPG) & Ford Transit 2.2 Duratorq TDCi
