O.k. is your engine code E2J772 and does it have a weber 2V carb, if so then it uses a renix ignition system (AEI) which has a control unit ( ecu ) which will have some form of diagnostic system built in, check for a diagnostic socket under the bonnet, dont ask me what it will look like in this early a model but maybe black square with round pins, or does it have an unregulated catalyst, if so then it will have the renix ignition for sure, the system is similar to the earlier rover mems system, where a carb was fitted with an unregulated catalyst and the ignition system was controlled by the ecu , if this doesnt apply to your 19 then i dont know why this light is coming on, could be an instrument panel fault, shouldnt even have an electronic immob if no ignition ecu , ;-)
