Not in my experience, and I have seen a lot of them over the last few years. They really are very surprising cars, they feel really quick.

I've never really like the bmw compact, just looks a bit cut off ...

I have recently had experience of a 320d Compact blowing a turbo .Did you see 'Big Chef Little Chef' on channel 4 recently?.Well, the manager of the Little Chef (Michael) was the owner of it.......thats about as big as the celebrity name dropping gets around here..I replaced the turbo ,then it came back as it stopped boosting properly, the problem was traced to a pair of blocked cats.....only available from BMW......900 from them.

It's given problems since too......

But again,if you drive one you'll want one, they are very quick feeling cars.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
Currently in Lagdti's garage:
2004 Saab 9-5 HOT Aero and a 2001 Audi A3 1.8 Turbo
