lol......ok not so confident just located the alternator and its under a bit metal chunk with wires and tubes all over the place.
anyone has it a guess how to get it out without removing the whole engine. lol.
Have you fixed it yet??? on my old mk2, i used to unbolt the landing pannel and front grill an remove them, this allows you move the raditor away from the engine and hot have to remove it!
You've now got just enough room to fit your hand in and remove the alternator! iirc the alternator is the tensioner for the aux belt!
a multimeter wouuld help, you can test the current drain with it. connect the meter in series with the battery and see what it reads, your looking for 0.2a or less. once you have it in line and showing more tham 0.2 amp pop the fuses 1 by 1 untill you find which circuite drops the drain below 0.2 a.
