Nah, my dad's ex-Passat had nigh on 200k on it when the company finally got rid of it, and that was on the variable servicing plan and often went 20k miles between services when he had it!

He probably did have more frequent changes on his own cars though. Still, his Xantia TD was on the original turbo when the headgasket went at 250k miles, and the 306 HDI on 190 when he got rid of it...
