Or, if you are like me and try to keep away from Renault Stealers, you could use a welders tip cleaner to ream out the crud from the jets.
The headlight washers use the same reservoir as the screenwash - just a different pump which is high pressure to force the washer jets up out of their housings
Check if the hoses haven't become detached although you should see water leaking out if this is the case otherwise it sounds like the jets could be furbarred. As far as I know a repair kit for them is available from Renault
I also drop my windscreen jets in white vinegar for an hour or so.... Not sure how this would affect anything painted tho, but it sure does the job!
