Warranty on parts and labour

Back in September 2007 I paid a Renault main dealer £176 to supply and fit a new drivers door lock because of a faulty solenoid. 17 months on and the new lock has now failed. I know its over 12 months but surely it should last a little longer than this. Any of you guys who work for main dealers know if it would be worth my while trying to get this done under warranty?
