Scenic boot lock problem
This also happened to my wife's car. The problem is the retention 'O' ring perishes/breaks.
The fix is quite simple and only cost a few pence and your time.
I took the black plastic handle which fell off to our local hardware store and obtained a rubber 'O' ring that fits over the spigot of the handle at the back. Cost 7pence
To fit: remove the moulded interior cover from boot door, this requires removing some screws and carefully pulling the cover away from the metalwork of the boot. it is retained by plastic pop fasteners. Remove the boot switch.
Fit the black plastic handle back into its retaining hole in the boot door and fit the 'O' ring onto the spigot ensuring seating into the recessed groove. Replace boot switch and moulded interior cover.
