I'm assuming it's vibration that's causing your window to go down and not the electric mechanism. You also shouldn't be able to push the window back up - it should be "stuck" where your electric switch left it.
Linking these two facts with the part you've found inside the door points me to a broken cable (and associated white plastic bit therefore falling off). You can fit a new cable from a cycle accessory shop for about £1.00 using electrical connector strip but it's really fiddly and it's difficult to get the cable tight enough. You'd be better off with a new regulator. Check
- they seem to be listed regularly at mucho cheaper than Reno.
