The resistance of the sensor increases with an increase in temperature increase (positive co-efficiant) so if it is starting off high I would suspect a bad connection somewhere.
As the radiator has been replaced the sensor wiring will have been disturbed so I would start at the sensor connections.
Currently in planmeca's garage:
Renault Laguna 1.8 16v x 2 and a lot of other things. could really do with a tidy up to be honest I'll do it tomorrow
