I managed to get a small puller, but it didn’t work
The plastic at the base of the wiper arm between the aluminium insert and the pullers forked base split as so much force was applied.
So I used a hacksaw instead, and that worked
The aluminium insert in the wiper arm had totally corroded and fused to the spline.
Even if I had managed to successfully remove the wiper arm intact, I wouldn’t have been able to reuse it.
As suspected the shaft of the wiper was totally bunged up as the grease had gone rock hard.
All fixed now
Just need to pop to Renault on Monday and get a new wiper arm.
Knowing Renault I'll need to remortgage my house to pay for the parts
