Rust is always best dealt with at the first sign, its a good car, and will last a long time if this is kept on top of.
It may be an idea when you have the car in the air, to sneak a look underneath (sills, fuel tank, floor) and repair as necessary. It won't add substantially to the overall job time - plus you'll have the equipment already to hand.
