Cheers for the advise.

My local garage had a check of the tdc sensor (crankshaft sensor) and checked it wasn't lose last friday - I've had starting pblms again since so could that suggest a different possible problem/fault??

Local Renault dealer can do key diagnostic to see if its key related (80) cos my spare/second key doesn't operate the central locking on the car at all.

If I do IR reset as mentioned on this site and it makes no difference would that eradicate a possible fault with TDC sensor.

I'm trying to keep my costs as low as poss - I could get TDC sensor replaced by local garage for approx 80 but there's no guarentee that will solve the fault

Otherwise I go to Renault dealer to spend 85 for diagnostic test then pay for whatever has failed.

I'm totally at a loss as to which option to go for.

Anyone please help?????
