thinking electrical engineering, if they are both on the same circuit the extra load on the second bulb caused by the first blowing could be enough to pop that one too.
this would work if both bulbs were wired in parallel to the same power source. If they were wired serially then the second would go out because the first blew rather than actually blowing itself. A bit like old christmas tree lights. I can't see this setup even being legal though, ifit were possible to legislate for such things.
This could of course be very embarrasing as it is a long time since Physics and Electrical Engineering.
