Keycard sticking in reader
The keycard on my 2001 Laguna II has started sticking in the central console reader. It will go in/out, but now needs more force than usual. Once in, the car will start and run ok, but it's worrying. I've looked around, and believe it might be a microswitch that's failing.
I've checked online, and can find genuine Renault reader replacement units for £35-£40, but my dealer wants £80 just to diagnose the fault (I could tell them it's knackered!).
So, is it possible for me to buy and replace the module myself, or does the dealer need to do it. I don't know if it is literally unplug one and plug in the other and it will just work or whether anything else needs doing.
If it is something I can do myself, how do you actually get the module out?
