My first lesson was down by Birmingham university Bristol road in a side road had the funder mentals of car explained had the princeiples of the cluth explaned the drove car down to Bristol road along bristol road up to next left turn then turned left twice more back to where i started this was at the start of rush hour and that was my first lesson.
One thing that did stay in mind all these yearsis the fact i was told early on that any body can make a vehicle go fast the trick was to stop it safely no matter what and was even given a demostration of to change down a gearbox whithout clutch and to stop the the car that way I know they teach them th basic things under the bonnet now but what else do they teach them.
indicators seem to be optional now, when I learnt we had to learn hand signals as well do them now most would not know what you were doing and would be confused
