On the Automatic it is not an easy job to remove. It is held in by 2 10mm bolts.. But the sensor itself is also "dowelled into the gearbox casing.. So my advice is to loosen the two 10mm bolts almost all the way out, then tap the heads of the bolts to push the sensor out of the casing..

When refitting you will find it almost impossible to locate the sensor dowls into position by hand.. so you have to loosly hold the sensor in position and then partially locate the bolts.. Then alternately turn the bolts to pull the sensor into the casing..

Renault give over an hour to replace the Auto TDC sensor, whereas the manual sensor is 15 mins..
