If it is the card reader what is the process for changing it?

Is it just clipped in or do you need to remove parts of the dash? Also i would imagine its best to do this with the battey disconneted also?

Cheers for you reply everyone!
Hi, changing the card reader is very straightforward and you can do it with the battery still connected but the card out of the reader, firstly, open the ashtray and pull it out, the reader is held in with clips,, so pull forward one side at a time and it will come out, there is one cable connected to it with a lever plug going into the unit, just in front of the lever there is a small button, press this and pull the lever over it and it will come away from the unit, then carefully unclip the fascia from the unit, job done, the reader is not coded to the car I'm told even though Renault will tell you that it is, and charge you half an hours labour to initialize it to your car, I managed to repair my reader with glue, but I bought another as a standby for 35.00, and it worked as soon as I installed it,
Hope this helps, let me know
