Thanks! that worked a treat.
I just kept pressing the switch until it went all the way down (it went a couple of inches per press), held it for a couple of seconds, then kept pressing until it was all the way up and held for a few seconds again.
Now it's working as normal.

I think the car was valeted not long before I got it, I guess it could have had some water ingress from that. Will have a look round those hinges, thanks again!
