Hi Geoff, and welcome

Check your brake fluid level as the hand brake light also doubles up as a low fluid level warning light. As your brakes wear the fluid level will drop. Did you mainly notice the light flicker when accelerating/decelerating and going round corners?

If that's ok check the connector on the fluid bottle is tight and intact.

The switch should be around the handbrake lever somewhere. You might need to pull back or remove trim to see it.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.
Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
