Laguna MK1 hatchback with a leaking boot

Well the boot seems to fill with water, I've searched the forum and found a mention of a drain near the the rear wash/wipe but there isn't one on mine that I can see. I took the internal panel off and everything seems dry in there.

I've also looked where the cables enter the boot at the top but it seems to be complete and undamaged, so no water ingress in that area.

I was wondering if there was a 'common' problem in the MK1 lagunas that cause a wet boot.

Thanks for the help.
