In my view by all means buy a valve and get it fitted, but unless you want to play Russian roulette or someone can point you in the direction of a reliable independent who knows what they are doing, go to the dealer, it's less hassle in the long run.

Also, if you have steel wheels, the valves are slightly different. I would be tempted to buy a new valve directly from Scrader, who manufacture them for Renault. The part you seek is the first on the page. Best of luck mate.
