Yes there should be an o ring there. I'm just looking at a 1.9dci with this problem. Replaced that O ring but still blasting oil out of any intake joint it can, and the crankcase pressure when taking off the oil filler cap (engine running) is too much. Turbo has no play in spindle, so today am looking at oil breather cannister (at front of engine and part of the oil filler cap body). Will remove the cannister as the oil takes ages to fill - I am guessing the bottom of the breather is blocked where it fits to the block.
Also, if you had a turbo make sure they drained the intercooler otherwise it will smoke for ages until the oil gets blown through the system.
