Hello Jason3 and a very warm welcome to the forums.
What a nightmare I have done this on more than one occasion myself....

It is sometimes possible to spray abit of WD40 into the socket and push the ball back into place. Or a very little bit of grease.
But it is very easy to break the mirror and/or the glass.

Is the mirror's ball still attached to the windscreen. If it is be espesially careful not to push too hard, I have even broken windscreens trying to do this in a hurry........

If you do break the mirror then I'm afraid it's off to your local freindly dealers or car breakers for another one.

Hope this helps. Kind regards Oily.
