Hi, Did you sort out your problem?
This heater plug light is also the 'engine management' or 'on board computer' warning light on my 1.9dCi trafic. It tells you in the handbook, take it to your dealer at the earliest opportunity.
This doesnt help you at all, but thought I would drop a line.

Vass20 says "As far as I know, glow plugs turn themselves off once the engine is running, but I've heard of some that do stay on (for what reason, I do not know though)."
I have a problem with my van where I think the plugs are staying on. Am about to go and test the leads to the plugs while the engine is running, and see if the things have voltage to them. Is there any other test I could try? Where do i find the sensor that turns the plugs off? Can i replace it easily?
Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks all

p.s. see my other post re this problem here:-
