what affects my milage the most is tyre air pressure.
I have them as hard as possible without wearing the centres. 2.55 bar front / 2.35 bar rear unladen.
the recomended pressures are way off target
my petrol 2002 GEIII gets 28mpg on average. 34 mpg best ever. 24mpg inner city.
by the way, ive just read a recent tyre test where they say the tyre with the lowest rolling resistance would cause the test car to use 6.7% less fuell than the tyres they tested with the highest rolling resistance. that's got to be at least a couple of mpg. the best were michelen eco something or other
The recommended pressures for the Espace IV on 17" wheels is 2.4 bar all round .. normal driving.
Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
