It seems I spoke to soon calling the car exceptional. The guy came to take the Laguna away for inspection earlier this afternoon and it would not start! After several attempts, the computer then reported a gearbox problem and said it needed immediate service. I removed the card, replaced it and after another 2 or 3 attempts the car finally started but even then I had to rev the engine to prevent it stalling. I drove it round the block to park it behind the recovery truck and it seemed to drive fine then with no more warnings from the computer. The car has been sat outside the house since Tuesday after the accident and has never had any problems starting since I bought the car in March until today. Is this likely to be a "protest" at being sat idle in the rain for a few days or is it likely to be more sinister and an indication that maybe some engine or gearbox damage has occured in the accident?
