I was only guestimating the cost of tracking. I seem to remember it being very expensive when I last used Kwikfit and there superest duperest crypton factor space machine thing. Anyway....

The symptomns I have are identical to those that this guy describes. I know the ball joints are worn but the knocking noise "sounds" like a CV joint is worn. Under load when the wheels are not striaght is when I hear it knocking so I'm starting to wonder if it's only the ball joints I need to replace.
Things is, I'd prefer to replace stuff while it's in bits rather than remove things twice. Apart from finding a big empty car park and driving around in circles is there another way to test CV joint wear ?
