Hello, CAN-bus is the serial bus interface for the cars electrical system and stands for Controller Area Network, and is split into High and Low signals ... the High is the control signals to the various pieces of ecuipment and inter controller communications ... the Low is the normal 12v car wiring.

Clip2000 works on lots of Renaults regardless if they are CAN-bus cars or the older more conventional electrical systems.

If I remember correctly it was a joint between between Philips, Intel and Robert Bosch ... so car to talk between the multiple ECU 's that were starting to appear in cars in the late 1900's (oooer that sounds old )

Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
