I have the same problem on a Lag II 1.8 (54 plate), is it easy to change the motor and how much did it cost? Was it from a scrap yard?
Hi, I got one motor from GSF (luckily theres a branch near me but they do post orders) google GSF and see if you can find the part on their list, that being said the one they supplied was not the right one for me but worth a try.
I ended up using parts gateway (again google should help find their website) reclaimed motor £60 all in. I found it easy as by the time i got the right part I had took the whole thing appart and put it back 3 times, having the haynes manual helps as well. The only awkward part is actualy getting the motor out of the window well as you have to get the angle right to get the whole thing out. It took me about an hour in total
