Not true from my experience.
As long as the warranty is with a proper warranty company they are good. I had one for two years on my Laguna and had no issues when claiming for an air compressor, a broken
spring and a faulty airbag squib. It paid for itself 3 times over in my experience.
I agree its prudent to have breakdown cover, but these days they dont seem (to me) to be able to fix as many cars by the roadside as they used to be able to and all they do is tow the car to the nearest dealers or garage.
