My first post
I upgraded from a '95 clio MkI to a 2002 Clio MkII. I have some kenwood 6x9" speakers that I salvaged out of my last car's parcel shelf.
New car has rear "door" card speakers fitted which I could do without if I fit shelf speakers. It's a 3 door.
Question is... Is it simple enough to:
1. Pop off the rear speaker grills, remove the speakers
2. Add cable extensions with connector blocks.
3. Route the cables in beside the seats and up to the shelf. Not so neat but it saves fighting with trim and routing cables down out of the doors and it is a 3 door so no door to worry about.
I suppose instead of item 3, I could locate and break into the wires as they pass the door pillar, allowing me to leave the factory rear speakers for reconnection when I sell the car - having replaced the parcel shelf.
For the front door speakers I was thinking of a set of Pioneer 5 1/4" EGS's. I heard these fit okay with 1 tab bent under.
Sound like a plan?
