As you car is a Clio 2,the central locking blip doesn't control the immobiliser as it did on the earlier model. There is a chip in the key on your car, when you put the key into the ignition there is an aerial around the ignition barrel which picks up a signal from the chip and it disarms the immobiliser. If it is the immobiliser causing the problem on your car (red led flashing on dashboard as you turn the engine over) then it's either a key problem,an aerial problem,or the wiring from the aerial to the
Do you definately have the red light flashing when the car won't start?.Does the car use the original oval shaped Renault key to work the central locking or is there a seperate fob?.(i.e for an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser).
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
