It involves replacing a securing clip on each of the 2 rear seat belt stalks.. The bolts then have a high strength adhesive applied to them and this needs 6 hours to dry..(this is NOT a VOSA recall, but a manufacturer improvement)
You have two options available..
1: Leave your vehicle for the whole day for the adhesive to cure, and get a courtesy car issued..
2: The rear seats can be removed for the modification to be done.. This will allow you to take your vehicle and then return for the seats to be refitted at a later time.. (obviously as long as you don't carry backseat passengers.
I've taken our scenic in for this modification to be done after much phaffing around. The dealer managed to lose all our 10year history with them and had our car down as registered to a complete stranger, not very impressive. On the copy of the worksheet given to me it says Work required carry out ots oanw. Do you know what that means? Is it what we need doing, I'm just worried they'll carry out work that was meant for the strangers car and they're not answering their phone (as usual!)
PS We're definitely finding another dealer after this
