Its a difficult one to answer without suggesting re-painting.
There is a couple of methods which may work, but it depends on how deep the marks are;
In no particular order -
Heat - gently warm the affected area with a haridrier or heat gun - this will help to establish the colour.
Lacquer - apply a very dilute and very thin layer of lacquer to the affected area's surface (which should help restore both the colour & the shine.
It can be dulled down a bit with v fine sandpaper once it has dried off.
A picture would help me advise which method is most appropriate in this case.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
