Front wheel judder

Just had my VS in for 82K service, having noticed vibration on front wheels when braking from speeds over 75mph which rapidly (in last 3K) got worse. Thought front tyres which were near to their end were to blame, but new tyres Goodyear F1's (much quieter) were the same. Cause according to Renault dealer was "a lot of play in track-rod ends". Still a slight tremble on front (under hard braking) but this maybe due to slight play in co axle joints.
The arrival of the 'hot' weather has made me realise the AC is not up to scratch, have to get that checked unless I want to roast everyone when next driving to the South of France.
