It's always a difficult decision on a high milage car. You also have to consider what caused the cam to break up. If it was due to poor
pressure there may be other engine damage or if some of the broken cam has got into the sump there could be serious bottom end damage. So fixing the top end may not be the end of your troubles. A second hand engine may also be an option but unlesss you can do it yourself it may cost as much anyhow.
