Glow Plug circuit 1997 Master

We've got a Camper based on an old ambulance
Never had any problems with starting
I was preparing for MOT and have been welding plates into rear floor
I disconnected the battery & alternator leads
After finishing I tested the van & started fine
This morning the van wont start, as the glow plug light doesn't come on
I bump started down a hill & ran fine, and starts well once warm
I may be mistaken, but I thought there wasn't much fuel in, the gauge now says 3/4 full. Maybe a red herring, or a sign of something?
How can I verify the glowplug circuit, is there a fuse somewhere?
