I think your error, is actually a design feature!

Spot on martin ..... most Renaults use a tell tale buzzer, although if you can convince your dealer they can also set the dash to flash the towbar directional indicators light as well ... (most new Renaults) .... if the buzzer was not working before I'd suggest that was the fault, not the fact that its starting to buzz now .... its usually an earth/ground fault that stops the buzzer working.
