Stolen Keys and immobiliser

Our last set of keys for a 1997 clio were stolen a few days ago, along with a drivers licence so the thieves could just walk up to the car and drive off

Renault have quoted extortionate amounts for fitting new locks eyc.. so i was wondering if anyone could tell me whether either of these options would work?

1: if i get a set of keys, locks and barrel of a scrapped clio of the same type and age, would i be able to get the car going? i.e turn the ignition on using a new barrel (or even hot wiring it) and then using the immobiliser bypass thats been described in this forum to turn it on.

2: to get keys, locks, barrels, immob and even ECU from a scrapped car and run it as normal, or is each ECU and immob specific to a car?

any help with this would be gratefully recieved.

thanks. p
