Charging fault warning on dash

I have checked through the search and FAQ sections and can't find anything on this. Even looked on google.

I have a Laguna 2 with 117k miles on the clock it's a 2001 1.8 16v petrol model.

The problem i have is the on board dash display is flashing red "STOP" and showing the message "Battery charge fault". I have checked the alternator charging and it's normal checked battery drain and again everything is spot on. Also it's been plugged into a fault code reader and the ECU is showing no fault codes. The car runs and drives as normal so the charging system clearly is working. I don't know where to look next any ideas or advice anyone?

Many thanks in advance

EDIT: Just noticed i may have posted this in the wrong place. Appolgies if so.
