Maybe it's trying to tell you something about your driving if the hazard lights come on when you start the car.

I don't know what you problem is, but I have the opposite one, my hazards don't work at all. Interestingly (maybe) my door lock switch appears to be dislodged and sits deep into the dash, still works after a fashion if you poke it well enough, I'm suspecting that my hazzard switch isn't connecting to the 'switch' at the back. Is it possible your is the other way and contacting just a little that causes the electronic latch to trip when you start the car? Have you tried thumping it one? It often works and is very satisfying to say, "That told you!" afterwards.
