Renault Laguna 2 - Replacing Rear Shock Absorbers
changed the shocks on my sports tourer yesterday. Ended up getting guinuine renault shocks in the end as they were the cheaper than what id been led to believe. They cost £55 + vat each..from my local renault dealer koni's were around £95 inc vat and monroe aparently have just brought out shocks for the laguna 2 and the rears were £90 inc vat each.
The job was very easy itself. Just loosened the top and bottom bolts, removed the wheel, took the top of the shock away from the mounting and put a wrench around the bottom of the shock and moved it back and forth until the bottom mounting loosened off the bush and came away from the mounting point. took about 15mins each side.
The guy at renault did say a small modification had been made to the bottom of the shock but all it seemed was the metal insert into the mounting point had a tappered edge probably to ease the fitting and removal.
Anyway all done now and the back end is perfect again.
