Sounds like your blower motor could have packed up! This is what I would check first anyhow.

Have you noticed any funny electrical smells recently?

The only way to check the motor is to get it out and connect it directly to the battery I'm afraid.

Don't quote me, but the blower motor is normally accesible under the glove box. Perhaps a Scenic owning member will be able to assist you further with regard to the location and removal.
