If all other items lock and unlock OK it can only really be one of two things.

1) The wiring or connection to the lock mechanism
2) The lock mechanism or motor.

Place your ear to the door and lock the car. Can you hear anything from the door lock?

If it's completely silent the next thinng to do is get the mechanism out and test the motor and drive to the motor.

Use a 12V5W bulb to test the drive to the motor. Disconnect the connector to the mechanism and put the bulb accross it. There are two versions of the mechanism; one with and one without dead lock. The connections are different. Post the type you have and I'll get the connector details.

Most likely fault is the motor or mechanism. It's not possible to repair these - Renault price ~ £110.
